The Apartment is a combination of 2 Brownstone units on a single floor in a Multi-Family Brownstone. The combination yields five Bedrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Family Room, Kitchen, and four Bathrooms.
Moldings and coffered Ceilings define each room. Carefully crafted millwork of picture moldings, crown moldings and paneling provide each space with individual identity. Two archway openings in and the existing partying wall were created between the Family and Living Room, and were fitted with custom made beveled glass sliding doors. The two fire place mantles were enhanced, one with a wood surround in the Family Room, and custom stone mantel in the Living Room. All finishes, millwork, lighting, flooring, cabinetry, appliances, plumbing fittings and fixtures are new. Architectural lighting is used to illuminate the architectural elements and in contrast to the decorative lighting throughout the apt. An acoustical hung Ceiling was implemented to provide acoustical privacy from tenants above. Paint was selected to define the varied décor from room to room.
The Dining Room was created by the removal of the party wall. Openings and new windows were installed into the East and West Dining Room walls.
The entire apartment was carefully composed to separate the public rooms from the private rooms. The public rooms are placed in the South to take advantage of direct natural light. The Bedrooms were positioned on the North side facing a quiet tree lined street. The Master Bedroom was provided greatest privacy at the end of the apt to take advantage of an existing Bay Window on the North façade.
The Master Suite is composed of a walk-in closet, Dressing Gallery, and Master Bathroom.
